ABSOLUTELY. I have a very hard spot in my heart for these fools, which comes from the fact that two acquaintances of mine lost their lives rescuing just such an idiot off Mount Washington in New Hampshire many years ago. Make 'em pay, or leave them there.
Most of this climbing stuff is simply a matter of vain pride: “I did (do) this (or that)! Not just anybody can!”
I had a neighbor that became obsessed with running. It ended his marriage because running became more important than just about anything else.
