WOW !!! That must have been weird.

Was the Coatroom the shelter location ? Later to be the "Duck and kiss your ass goodbye" location.

Every class room had a coat room... It was off the central hallway next to the classroom entrance door...

When the air raid alarms rang, the class immediately went to the coat room where the teacher would immediately lead us in the Lord’s Prayer...

We were about 8 miles from the entrance to Boston Harbor (as the crow flies) and eventually could tell when the “rumble” was deck-gun fire, depth charges, or a torpedo hit...

Boston was a main collection point for the convoys headed to England and, eventually, the Soviet Union...

The U-Boats sank the convoy ships like sitting ducks, for the first part of the war after Pearl Harbor...FDR’s war...
