The text from her son Randy that Heather Bacchus received at at 1:26 AM on July 17, 2021, seemed like good news.
“I’m quitting weed for good and want to surround myself with healthy and happy people,” he wrote. “This has been too much for me and for you guys.”
Less than an hour later, at 2:09 AM, a second text arrived.
“I love you and am sorry for everything. I love dad and the same to him. I wish I would have been a better person.”
It was his suicide note. That night, Randy killed himself.
...Now research suggests they were right: a study published by the National Institutes of Health warns that cannabis use is implicated in 30% of cases of schizophrenia among men aged 18 to 30.

Money will pour in for education and more for the children.
Plus having a legal supply will dry up all the illegal dealers/ or perhaps not.

In high school, you could just about always see the change when someone started using cannabis, it was a sudden and dramatic change.
“ cannabis use disorder.”
Why cant they just say “addiction.”
Thats what it is.
Since the 60s I’ve known weed as a dropout drug. I saw it in college, as a parole officer and as a HS teacher/coach.
My beautiful, brilliant son destroyed his mind with marijuana. It is not harmless and it should not be legal.

A couple of years back an article about high-potency MJ was filling emergency rooms, I sent it to our teacher son.
He said you can SEE IT, in schools everywhere; big cities, farm country... It is obvious.

Pls, see #7.
It was the same during the 60s and 70s, I describe it as getting a worm in their head, they aren’t the same, they are altered.
Have seen many a pothead in my time.
Not a one of them had ambition, or were successful in life.
At all.
Y’all shouldn’t watch “Reefer Madness”. Probably take it for a documentary from some of these replies. Jiminy Christmas. Yet another example that republicrats LOVE big government, as long as it’s THEIR big government.
Dave’s Not Here...
At least one half of USA adults who commit suicide are addicted to alcohol and-or recreational drugs.
Marijuana is a gateway drug - just like wine and beer are gateway drugs.
If marijuana is banned, a large percentage of teenagers will just switch to wine and beer.
If marijuana is banned because of addiction risk, then wine and beer need to be banned, too.
They have new ways to smoke it as well, take a look.

He started smoking it when he was 14 years old.
There is no doubt in my mind that cannabis use can, and does, cause
mental illnesses. Many of these lead to deaths - tragically.
Not just deaths, but what Chris Plante calls, “A work-free drug place”.
—”Yet another example that republicrats LOVE big government, as long as it’s THEIR big government.”
Rest assured, the legalization of marijuana is clearly an expansion of big government.
Mostly supported by the left, yes there are conservatives that would legalize anything that might grow in the garden including psychedelic mushrooms. Believing that which governs least...
That said the costs to society are massive and long-term far outweighing any short-term gains.
Highly recommend everyone taking up all of your children’s and grand kid’s time. Church, sports, activities, weekend outings. If you don’t take up their time... some else will. Having roamed California as a latch key kid... I am lucky to be alive.
“cannabis use is implicated in 30% of cases of schizophrenia among men aged 18 to 30.”
Got to ask, what about the other 70%?

A fallacious argument that happens to be true.
IIRC here in Illinois we pay more tax on a gallon of gasoline (~$.55) than a gallon of beer(~$.50).
Tax it until homebrew takes over!
