He put Louisville basketball on the map and won two national championships. A job well done.

And yet, I’ve never heard of him.

As my screen name attests, I was born in Louavul. And Denny Crum was a class act.

Probably seeing how Louisville did this year finished him off.

I’m 46 and remember Denny Crum since I was 10 years old. Actually the first finals I ever watched was 1986 Louisville-Duke.

College Basketball once was great, Denny, Dean Smith, Al McGuire, Coach Knight.

Now it’s a joke. The three-point shot killed basketball.

UCLA did everything to get him back to Westwood but could never match or exceed what he had at Louisville.

Almost 80. Crum was a legend. He was a player and assistant coach under John Wooden at UCLA. Crum as a coach at UCLA was part of 3 national championships and then as head coach at Louisville won two more. Six Final Fours. National coach of the year 3 times. Inducted into both the Basketball Hall of Fame and the College Basketball Hall of Fame.

Top notch coach!

I will always remember 1979-1980...their first NCAA national
championship. They beat UCLA.

Darrell Griffith, outstanding!

That’s more than well more than old enough unless you don’t follow sports at all...which some people don’t, and I don’t fault you for it.

Let’s just say I don’t follow college sports so much, unless they’re local.
