If if if. If there was actually any interest in making ICE-equivalent electric vehicles, there’d be a industry standards group working out a hot-swappable battery pack that could be lifted out and new one dropped in at the equivalent of gas stations, kind of like propane tanks now. (bla bla math for age of new vs old battery, etc.) In this way people could get from A to B with about the same delay as filling up. Said station could charge batteries by whatever means without as much worry about charge rate.

Then battery tech could improve and since the format would be standard, no problem. Recycling is then also relatively eased by having batteries accrete at stations.

However that’s not what WEF and the reset crowd want. They want limited travel, utter control of when and where you go, and inability to escape to the rest of the planet outside your “15-minute” gulag.

That's exactly what the push for EVs is about, and that's all that it's about. And if EVs don't pan out? So much the better, as far as the statist control freaks are concerned.

The ignorance of some of the comments already on this thread (presumably from those who fancy themselves gearheads or techno-geeks or whatever) is pretty appalling. The "climate agenda" has nothing whatsoever to do with environmental protection or even "climate" itself. The EV push has everything to do with the freedom of mobility, freedom to travel, etc. How we are to live.

And here we have so-called conservatives sitting around, musing about the ins and outs of battery technology. Sheesh.

The problem with this approach is that the depreciation of the battery pack would have to be added to the cost of the changeout (already costing money for electricity, labor, and capitol for the facility). By the time it’s all added up, it will be at least DOUBLE that of gasoline.

...so no future, unless it’s forced on us.

NDB do not need charging. They are effectively solid state DC generators. They use nuclear waste for power and last for decades, or longer.

The technology is almost there. Yeah, there is interest.

But you are correct, the environazi crowd is not really interested in clean energy but control.
