Shoot, but 10 years old I could cook pork chops, meat loaf, hamburgers, etc. in my family kitchen. Wasn’t around a deep fryer, but a cast iron skillet quarter/half filled with oil ain’t much different. Of course, that was 1980, and we were the ‘latch key’ kids, aka Gen X.
