Last month I went to Lowe's to purchase some wire to make an end fed half wave antenna. The shelves were wide open and easy to shop for wire gauge, solid/stranded, length and price. Last weekend, I went in search of 18 AWG or 20 AWG stranded for a longer antenna. There are cages over all of the wire spools. We do have a fair incidence of property crime in the area from drug users. I was still able to read the packages and remove a spool if desired. Higher value stuff goes in glass cases with locked doors. Pocatello/Chubbuck, ID.

Here in a suburb of Sacramento, the local Home Depot I am regularly in, you will see people walking out with all kinds of merchandise every damn day. Really great to see as you are standing in line waiting to give them your money. Kinda makes you feel like a dupe.
