I had a relative spend a year there recently. There is stuff going on in Africa that most people in the US have no idea. China is very active in Africa and the US spends time trying to counter that. Plus, the Islamic Terrorists are pretty active there. And this is on top of the usual crazy dictator stuff that always pops up in Central Africa.
And pirates. There are lots of Somali pirates.
Why did we lose good men in Mogadishu years ago, including two Delta Force operators? The entirety of Africa should be shut off from the rest of the world and left alone for 100 years.
I hope they’re doing what needs to be done and by that I mean bringing personal ventilation to scum that desperately need it. But if they’re processing payoffs to jobiden inc. then I’d say bring them home and turn out the lights on the way out.
A few troops here, a few troops there and pretty soon you’re policing a global empire.
