Now, if they could take some features out of it. No fooling, it takes my WIN10 desktop six minutes to boot up.

Microsoft is encouraging users to now transition to Windows 11 because Windows 10 won’t be getting any new features. That itself is its best feature. I don't know how many times I have left things unsaved overnight only to have Microsoft lose it through a forced upgrade reboot.

Except for that fact that 80% of the PCs running windows 10 CANNOT upgrade to Windows 11.
This is forced obsolescence.

See post 7. I thought that too but it looks like there’s a workaround.

I’ve tried to find it, without luck. There has to be some goofy service that gets stuck for some reason. It must disable task switching. Virus hunters find nothing.

No mention in the article of Microsoft abandoning my home computer’s Windows XP operating system.
So I guess I’m okay, for now anyway.

My seven year old gaming laptop is still kicking butt and performs magnificently for all modern PC games, not on highest settings but it has been doing just fine.
This is am arbitrary money grubbing death sentence for my investment.
I wish very poor things for anything Bill Gates has ever touched. This is why it used to be trendy for Bill to get pies in the face at airports.

It’s not uncommon for the Windows registry to become corrupted. Unfortunately when it happens the corrective action is to scrub it and start over - quick fixes often come back to bite you.

Even with a 7200 rpm mechanical drive my Windows 10 system takes 30 seconds. And I’m really a Linux guy.

I use Office 365. Why can’t Microsoft figure out a way to do updates without requiring me to do a reboot? So stupid.
