I know a young woman who was raised by her father. He was a functioning mentally ill person and she will be little better as she ages. My comment is to point out that if the main care-giving person involved in a child’s life is mentally ill, it will impact the child. This is true if the main caregiver is man, woman or teddy bear.

I have a second cousin with gender issues. Mother was an alcoholic and lost custody. Dad was self centered and dumped his daughter on her grandmother.

Poor kid suffered weight issues and then gender issues.
