Of course the Battery is the whole problem. You cannot efficiently store electricity. Charge your car, two weeks later or the temperature drops you loose a good portion of that charge (if it hasn’t spontaneously combusted burning yours and your neighbors houses down).
F*** recycling. What we do on all but a few types of plastics is nothing more than a scam. Politicos pushing it, even after it is shown to not work, did so since they have relatives invested in it. Just like Solar panels and wind mills.
Saying that there is not enough of the minerals is the same sort of scam as “peak oil” is.
The NAmerican continent has loads of all of them, even had some mines. But, the treehuggers and politicos who take bribes from the CCP closed down all mining efforts — ‘cause the CCP has mines in place.

It’s just been weeks since we were told in 10 years there won’t be enough rare earth minerals to build REPLACEMENT batteries for the e-Cars ALREADY SOLD (10 years previous to the shortage).And they’re proposing to build STILL MORE e-Cars? That is rampant, bald-faced stupidity.

And they'll never have enough charging stations to accommodate all the EV cars they want to put on the road. I've never seen any where I live, but then again, there are very few people in this small city, that would ever be able to afford an EV.
