Not the way to slash property prices in the game.
A Monopoly match in Belgium turned into a bloodbath — and not in the figurative board game sense — after a perturbed neighbor confronted the players with a samurai sword.
The fracas occurred around 5 a.m. April 2 while a group of four gamers was playing the classic strategy game outside on the sidewalk in Forest, Brussels, per local outlet La Libre.
The noise reportedly awoke the neighbors, who came outside brandishing a stick at the rowdy players, who may have been homeless, according to France’s Midi Libre.
This resulted in a heated altercation, which escalated after the neighbor’s son emerged from the residence with a katana, a curved sword traditionally used by the samurai in feudal Japan.
The son got into a tussle with one of the players, who “tried to grab the katana and removed the holster,” police said, per La Libre.
When the son “tried to get it back,” the scabbard became damaged and exposed the blade, slicing both of them, Insider reported.
Both men were transported to the hospital with serious injuries, although the Monopoly player was discharged the next day.
Meanwhile, the son, who sustained a deep artery cut during the scuffle, remains at the facility in critical condition

Not the Bee quality—or for old timers, Dave Barry.
Apparently it is a game called Catan.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catan
It was first published in 1995 in Germany by Franckh-Kosmos Verlag (Kosmos) as Die Siedler von Catan (pronounced [diː ˈziːdlɐ fɔn kaˈtaːn]). Players take on the roles of settlers, each attempting to build and develop holdings while trading and acquiring resources. Players gain victory points as their settlements grow; the first to reach a set number of victory points, typically 10, wins. The game and its many expansions are also published by Catan Studio, Filosofia, GP, Inc., 999 Games, Κάισσα (Káissa), and Devir. Upon its release, The Settlers of Catan became one of the first Eurogames to achieve popularity outside Europe.[6] As of 2020, more than 32 million copies in 40 languages had been sold.[7][8]Just another hokey hokey third world construct.
“He sunk my Battleship!!”
“I never really liked that game anyway.”
I HATED that game. Hated it so much that when nobody was looking I’d take my money and slip in into other players’ piles so I could go bankrupt faster.
I’ve honestly never finished a Monopoly game because no one ever want to play by the rules.
I know that guy from the sandwich 🥪 shop
He’ll cut your sandwich 🥪 in half if you ask him
“Ukraine is weak”.
I’d play Monopoly more often if it were always this dramatic!
Everybody was Kung-fu fighting
Not FLA bump.
Back in the late 70s and early 80s, the summer trip to my aunt had great homemade pizza and lots of monopoly fun.
I have a legacy CD version that I spin up every so often.
Every now and then I beat the computer.
Looks like a friendly game of squash.
Homeless playing Monopoly. Life is stranger than fiction.
There are rules?
Once you get to the trading property stage, all rules are off.
Awesome bad movie
