Yeah, Twitter saying local police radio mentioned a “SWATting” incident. (Bogus call).
It is an odd place for someone to decide to go postal, especially at night, but the south oval is where in 2005 Joel Hinrich killed himself with a bomb after being unable to get into the football game. Hi rich was a former national merit scholar who had lost his scholarship and that night, the university held their yearly presentation of national merit scholars during halftime. It is believed he wanted to detonate the bong in the stadium during that ceremony. But he died alone on a bench in the south oval.
