I Used To Be A Normal Person
I used to think I was pretty much just a regular person, but I was born white, into a two-parent household which now, whether I like it or not, makes me privileged, a racist, and responsible for slavery.
I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which by today's standards, makes me a fascist because I plan, budget, and support myself.
I went to Grammar School and have always held a job. But I now find out that I am not here because I earned it, but because I was "advantaged."
I am heterosexual, which according to gay folks, now makes me homophobic.
I am not a Muslim, which now labels me as an infidel.
I am older than 60, making me a useless dinosaur who doesn't understand Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or Snapchat.
I think, reason, and doubt most of what the ‘mainstream’ media tells me, making me a Right-wing conspiracy nut.
I am proud of my heritage and our inclusive culture, making me a xenophobe.
I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair reward according to each individual's merits, which today makes me an anti-socialist.
I believe our system guarantees freedom of effort, not freedom of outcome or subsidies, which must make me a borderline sociopath.
I believe in the defense and protection of my nation for and by all citizens, now making me a militant.
I am proud of our flag, what it stands for, and the many who died to let it fly, so I stand during our National Anthem - so I must be a radical.
Funny - it all took place over the last decade! If all this nonsense wasn't enough to deal with, now I don't even know which toilet to use... and these days I gotta go more frequently!

Most of what is going on culturally is not understood by normal people; they are busy living their lives. We want to believe that things haven’t really changed, but they have. Normalcy bias is really hard to break. 60 years of “socially liberal, but fiscally conservative” has gotten us a real mess. We have child trannies. I didn’t vote for that. Nobody did, but we still got them. Normal people often still think that we are in an 80% white and Christian country that has a few weirdos in the big cities. It’s falling apart. Trump represents some hope, but look at how crazily the weirdos oppose him. We can only move one more exit down the interstate for so long.
Me too, but now, much like the article, I am forced to question every thing I have learned and lived for the past 8 decades.
I'm still married to the same woman for over 60 years, still believe in God and the Catholic Church, love my Country {what little is left of it} but I would not advise any of my grand kids {or my great grandson} to join the military.
That long family tradition ended when my Navy Captain son retired because of O'Bamaramadingdong.
Until biden, the worst President...ever.
Biden has made 8 years of Mike and his pal look good compared to the dis-function we are living with today.

In my 66 years, the Overton window has moved multiple times. More than I would have ever for seen at 40. We live in a lost country due to these enormous changes.
Secession is the only answer to normalization of our existence.
I think that many people are too busy living their lives to see what’s going on about them. And when the SHTF most of them will not survive! I, like you, have lived a long life. I think I’ve, always, been acutely aware of the world around me. And, I was always waiting for the rest of the world to catch-up to my way of thinking about it. I absolutely think that for what awaits us, our only appeal is to God.
Here’s the problem as I see it. Ordinary Americans were more than happy to live next to diversity. But diversity was not okay with living next to ordinary Americans. We have become too diverse by far. None of these problems occur in, say, Japan. Japan has almost no diversity and no problems comparable in scale and type to those facing America.
Solutions, lock up the borders, take government out of education. Get rid of students who demonstrate they are dangerous. Get men out of female sports, locker rooms and events.
Yeah, yeah, I’m racist, phobist, etc. Ask me if I care what anyone else thinks.

Normal is a setting on the washing machine.
My Parents and their brothers and Sisters all grew up during the Depression - they worked at what ever jobs they could find. During WW II all of my Aunts worked at War Plants while the Uncles were in the War.
My Family always preached that you go out find a job and pay your bills. To them, people who didn’t work were not only lazy bums - but they were Not normal.
There was a Star Trek mirror universe episode where Kirk, Scotty and Uhuru get teleported to an alternate Enterprise which is a barbaric version of their civilization. When they get back they find the real Spock had spotted and arrested the alternate versions from the other universe. He said, “You, as civilized people, could pretend to be barbarians. But they, as barbarians could not pretend to be civilized people.” Our schools and colleges and our open borders are flooding us with barbarians who can’t even pretend to be civilized.
That is also a theme in “The Lord of the Rings:” Sauron could not conceive that anyone would refuse the power of the One Ring, and instead try to destroy it. Therefore, he did not guard Mount Doom, even though that was the only way he could be finally defeated.
Soddy, I too am “normal” like you, but many times have been called nuts or radical, by low-life leftists, but hey, I have certificates on file that attest to my sanity (at least at that time) and that is always MUCH MORE than they can claim.
I Am Normal! I will never be forced to question every thing I have learned and lived.
I’m done with the Left. There is no such thing as a civil conversation with them. As I said the other day, the next time I talk to a Leftist will be in the Emergency Room after they have finished extracting my fist from their mouth. Get in my face and be prepared to pay the price.
P.S. I’m old enough to not give a “F” about the consequences.
