You forgot to mention that Russia treated Ukraine like a puppet. Ukrainians obviously wanted to free themselves from that. Ukraine is after all a sovereign nation.

Russia fomented extra tensions in the US during the “Summer of love Riots” in the USA. They have put a lot of effort in dividing Americans. Typical Soviet style, nothing has changed.

NATO has lied about not encroaching on Russia's borders and inviting Ukraine and other non-NATO nations to join. NATO has antagonized Russia for decades.
