I’m beginning to think that the DA’s office in New Mexico is incompetent. First, they charge Baldwin under a statute that did not take effect until after the shooting, which is patently dumb. Then they appoint a special prosecutor who is a current member of the New Mexico legislature, a clear violation of the state’s constitution.
It’s called taking a dive.
