In the Falklands War he flew a Sea King helo and hovered above and very near his ship as a decoy to hopefully lure Exocets away from hitting the ship. It was fully witnessed by far too many men to just be another sea story.
He was in the air when the Atlantic Conveyor was sunk by an Exocet, and rescued guys in the water. Yeah, he was a partier, and enjoyed the women, but his military service was no joke. Charles did nothing.
