He suffered cat-astrophic injuries.
A UK man miraculously survived after sustaining a broken neck, fractured spine, smashed ribs, blood in his lungs and other “car crash”-evoking injuries from — wait for it — tripping over his cat.
“I can’t remember much, just falling fast — it was quick and it was over within seconds, then I was at the bottom,” victim Chris Rowley, 59, told the Mirror.
The freak “Apocalypse Meow” accident reportedly occurred on the evening of Oct. 23 while the Leicestershire-based professional musician was home alone with his hairless Egyptian sphinx kitten, Eric Morecambe.
Disaster struck after the wrinkly kitty, apparently feeling playful, dove out and latched onto one of its owner’s legs while he was coming down the stairs.
“It took a bit of a chunk out my leg then I lost my footing,” described Rowley, who reportedly tumbled down 14 steps before arriving at the bottom, where he lay unable to move when his feline put the “hell” in Hello Kitty

Eric Morecambe. Hell of a name tor a cat. I thought the neighbor’s cat’s name, Donna, was weird.

He probably his a fish named “Eric”. “Eric the Fish. He’s a halibut!”
Our next female cat will be named Mehitabel.
Our black-tuxedo cat is "Nikki Haley" - we adopted her when Nikki Haley was UN Ambassador and had that Pali "mike drop" at the assembly.
Turns out she's a mean-girl - "doesn't play well with others" - I may have jinxed her with that name.
Well, he’s almost 60, and possibly a bit frail for his age. When I picture a musician, I think of skinny narrow shouldered guys like Rod Stewart and any of the Rolling Stones.

Most people don’t know this but President Biden takes his pet cat on Air Force One. That’s why he stumbles on the stairs so often; his cat attacks him.

One of my cats tried to kill me. It dragged a piece of bubble wrap on to the stairs. I stepped on it at night and levitated about 4 feet straight up. Managed to land safely.
He probably got a cat because the dog got tired of being blamed for messes on the rugs.
We had cats in college (some belonged to the neighbors, but hung around us) that were named after “Young Ones” characters, or just random **** that one guy thought up. “Jasmine” became “Captain Freebase,”
“Little One” became “Felicity Kendall’s Underpants”....”Bastard Squad,” “Lord Snot”....”Special Patrol Group”....
I knew a guy who tripped on his cat, missed one step and broke his femur. That’s usually major fall or collision, or fragile old bones. The guy was 20, sober; the cat had obviously plotted it out meticulously.
I love cats, had them all my life, but yes, they are capable of doing this.

This reminds me of my response to mv VA doc when he told me I should really get the Covid shot. “Doctor, I’ve got a bigger chance of dyeing tripping over my cat then from the kung flu... So no!”
I’m a cat person & do rescues. I have kittens I rescued from back in September. I haven’t found homes for them yet. They delight in running down the stairs in front of me & sometimes stopping to “catch” my feet. I don’t doubt that a very bad accident could result from stepping on one & tumbling down the stairs!
