“450,000 Michigan locations remain without power......”

Population is a little over 10 million ....that makes it less than 5% without power.

Outages are calculated by bill paying locations—those are single family homes, apartments and businesses.

Obviously there are more people in a “location” than one—on average.

Multiplying total locations by two is probably a decent rule of thumb—so 450,000 locations would be close to a million people affected.

All concentrated in lower Michigan west of the Detroit area, white suburbia and farmland. Map has hardly changed since the storm.
