Good movie.
The only way I’ve been able to conceive of why the word “woke” is used is to think of the pod people in “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” as “woke” versions of their victims. Ie. awoken to a new reality of compulsory conformity and shrieks at anyone still caught out as human.
But is he proud of letting Robert Downey Jr. steal the spotlight from him in his own movie?
Tangentially, Steve Coogan is also in “Hamlet 2,” another guilty pleasure flick of mine. Pam Brady, of South Park fame, was involved in that one.
Robert Downey in black face was actually mocking Russell Crowe, skewering him brilliantly.
Stiller is immensely talented. I remember when he hosted the MTV video awards, he directed a bunch of great parodies, including casting Bob Newhart as Braveheart. And this all Shatner parody of Seven:

It’s a spoof on all the Vietnam War movies Hollyweird produced. Full Metal Jacket, Platoon, Apocalypse Now, Jacob’s Ladder, etc.....making a fortune off of tragedy. Extremely awkward. Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Cruise deserve Oscar’s for their performances. Nick Nolte too.

It’s okay, it’s one of those movies that once you’ve seen it you don’t really have to ever see it again except for comical highlights. Wiki has a page on I’m sure. Check it out.
