I was in Northridge the last time it snowed in LA (1989). What a weird morning that was. Snow everywhere from Santa Barbara down thru LA and into Orang County. I thought somebody was playing a major prank when I went to get into my car and it was covered by a foot of snow.
My boss in Orange County had lived in southern California his entire life—and he was a bit of a character.
One day his boss told him he had to fly to NYC for a meeting in the winter.
My boss said “You allow me to put a top-coat on my expense report or I am not going”.
They paid for his topcoat!
