Are you kidding? When I was in college and I saw a guy in a ski mask leaving my house in the middle of the night I would have locked the door and called 911 as fast as possible. These people were adults 20 years old or older.

And you are assuming there were not people coming and going at all hours in that house.
And we donāt know the relationship between all these people. I had a house mate who would have all sorts of creatures skulking around the house at all hours. You roll over and go back to sleep. And keep your door locked.
