Ruh roh.

Here we go again.

Trump aficionados are quick with their input, gotta give them that.

Fine.

I like Trump and what he did during his presidency.

If Trump wins the GOP Nom, I'm on board and will support and vote (early) for the man.

That said, I like other candidates more for the upcoming election.

So do many others.

Of the more than a dozen or so Conservatives in my circle of friends and rels, not one (zero) wants Trump to run again (I know, he already announced) and a few say they will not vote for him even if he is the Nom.

I currently support DeSantis. I'm also looking at Pompeo. (Notice, I have no "bromance" with any candidate. I just want a Conservative who is most likely to win in the general.)

DeSantis and Pompeo both impress me as they both have good communication skills, they are strong but diplomatic (Reaganesque), and they clearly think before they speak or act.

I also think that Veterans make better presidents, as they have a good understanding of what our Military is really for, and what protection of classified information is all about.

And DeSantis and Pompeo are both more likely to criticize a Dem rather than a fellow GOPer. This is a major issue with me and so many GOPers.

If you like Trump, good on ya. He's my third choice at the moment, and the primaries will be interesting and instructive.

From the minute Trump stepped out on the stage during campaign to be Republican nominee last cycle, I liked him and knew he would beat Hillary. Not a single doubt in my mind. Plenty of doubts now — he has so many enemies, one of which, occasionally, is DJT himself.

DeSantis looks better, not perfect but very good. Making smart moves, has fewer enemies. Incredible family, great optics. He’d be hard to beat. Do worry though, about raising those adorable kids in the WH.

Generally agree with that. If someone wants to serve, they will find a way. President Reagan has pretty substantial eyesight problems and he served in the capacity he could.

If someone wants to serve, they will find a way. That's one of the purposes of Medical Waiver Review Boards, and more generally Service Medical Waiver Review Authority, etc

A) You’ve got a lot of butthurt friends.
B) Your definition of “Conservative” encompasses run-of-the- mill, go-along-to-get-along politicos, which is to say it is decidedly NOT actually Conservative. The people you’re considering will not move the needle off of “Partisan Politics As Usual.”
C) DeSantis isn’t running.

Get over it.
