Go back the week of the invasion, look for him on Hannity or one of the other Fox talking heads. I can’t remember which. I’ve bought multiply books of his. I was very surprised at his lack of understanding of basic balance of power politics. Doesn’t matter to me what you think but he is on record being dead wrong. I doubt he’s changed much since. You ever hear of him being non Bushite neocon Russia, Russia, Russia BS on Ukraine? Link?

For me, characterizing a giant like Victor Davis Hanson as “stupid” is a bit like jumping the shark.
I have read several of his books, and I think he is one of the most accomplished historians on the conservative side that exist today.
And watching him in person, in front of an audience, he comes across as down to earth, humble, and completely gentlemanly. If anything, we as a nation should be apologizing to him for forcing him into literary terrain that forces him to have to be confrontational and angry, because I get the distinct impression that both of those things are not natively in his character.
Sigh. For so many people now, they have to journey into that same territory they would rather not be in.
I can understand some who would disagree with him. But he isn’t stupid, and he knows of what he speaks.
