I am a geography geek. Know routes driving by road maps, and not GPS.

Loved National Geographic growing up about the different places, and no I'm not going into the bare breasted African women they showed.

I always thought geography was about the physical landforms and features themselves, without humanity being considered in it.

Relationships between people and their environments sounds more like sociology to me.

I think I was ten, I was fascinated by maps and loved looking at them. Still do to some degree. My grandmother asked me once what I wanted to be when I grew up.

I said I wanted to be a geographer but was not sure if I wanted to move to Kansas.

'Why would you have to move to Kansas?

'Well, that's the geographical center of the country.' I responded.

The logic was there, the facts weren't. Hey, I was only ten. LOL

Mark Twain War is the way most Americans learn about maps.

I credit my stamp collecting hobby for getting me into geography young. I would research everything I could about the stamps. Haven’t collected in years, but I’ve still got my books somewhere.
