Many years ago I went to the Vienna zoo. There were signs warning people Zucker ist fu"r uns Gift ("Sugar is poison for us") so they wouldn't try to feed the animals. The German word Gift is what the French call a faux ami--its meaning is very different from the English word spelled the same.
