The news cycle being what it is today though, any information about the fires flamed out quickly and seemed to disappear in a puff of smoke.

It was reported briefly locally, but sources like CNN didn't even bother to mention it.

Yes. The young man was visibly rattled. Was going on about eggs laying eggs. His witness was critical, however. When he stopped using Purina chicken food his chickens began paying eggs.
