GM will never see a profit on the huge capital investments they made with EVs. Its a niche market and most people don’t want them.

Regulations, especially insanely high CAFE standards, are forcing the issue. If you are buying a car in California in 2035, electric will NOT be a niche, unless something changes, and the big manufacturers cannot assume that (although Toyota is going as light on electric as they can, and have spoken skeptically on it as a universal solution.)
