Those saline sprays have never worked for me at all. The only thing that works is 4Way which I can not find anymore or Afrin and/or it’s Vick’s competitor in a mist spray.

Decades ago my nose got addicted to Afrin and it was hellish getting off of it.
The warning not to use it more than 3 days is real.

My wife occasionally snores but its really pretty quiet and kind of sweet.

Me? I think I sometimes wake myself up from my snoring or maybe because the little lady kicked me. She’s supposed to just tell me to roll over to sleep on my stomach. ;-)

I’m 68 and have my tonsils and adenoids but if a little saline spray quieted me down I’ll add it to my shut down routine. No allergies here.

What’s the hypertonic part?

Just sharing my $.02. I installed the ap Snorelab on my andriod. It records my snoring all night long using a sound triggered mic. I’ve found that I’m not in the sleep apnea danger zone but i do snore a lot. One interesting thing ive found is Melatonin and L-Theanine before bed makes me snore less. Whooda thot?

Our (my) issue is that she snores early at night, which makes it tough for me to get to sleep; evidently, I snore during the 3-5 a.m. period, which makes her mornings difficult. I can sleep in a little, if needed, since I work from home. Saline is the next attempt at a solution. I can deal with hers going to sleep with headphones. I have actually used the same headgear that I wear at the range to kill the noise. It worked, but there was some blowback that made it not worth it.

Melatonin is an anti-inflammatory.

I have tried some of these products, the quercetin and luteolin for my mast cell disorder and both helped, the luteolin much more than the quercetin.

I started reacting to them both eventually, so melatonin is the next on my list to try.

I would rarely ever need to use it except for the fact that I use CPAP and that thing stops my nose up tighter than cement if I don’t give the nose a squirt of that mist.

I have an annual appointment coming up with my pulmonologist next month. I will mention it to him and see what he says.

Get both of you into a sleep study. You may both benefit from CPAP machines.

If I fail to wear mine I am beat the next day.

If you need it, it will help a great deal.

“What’s the hypertonic part?”

The hypertonic saline nasal spray is 3 times more concentrated than the regular (isotonic) saline nasal spray.

Thanks! I got one of each in my cart. Worth a try.

1) AYR Allergy & Sinus Hypertonic Saline Nasal Mist, White, 1.69 Fl Oz ($6.29)

2) ARM & HAMMER Simply Saline Nasal Care Daily Mist 4.5oz – Instant Relief for Every Day Congestion – ($ 7.99)

$15 bucks - BTW, the little lady of 42 years says I don’t do any of that intermittent breathing stuff, its just snoring with every breath although my fraternal twin does use CPAP with him waking (studied) 60-80 times a night.

;-)

Grew up in the 50’s and 60’s. Had tonsils and adenoids taken out in early 60’s. I remember some hellist earache too. It was before they put tubes in the ears. Sure would have saved me some horrible earache in the middle of the night.

Remember after recovery crying for a drink of water. Nurse said I couldn’t have any. Doctor finally said. Give her some water. I promptly threw up blood all over myself and my crib ( looked like a crib anyway) Scared the dozen of parents in the children’s dormitory they had us all in.

A simple nasal spray significantly reduced snoring

Of course, there's always the "John Wesley Hardin" method.

Wow...I had a similar experience with thirst. Only the nurse told me to “SHUT UP”.

LOL, yeah I think I was crying because the nurse was being severe with me.

Maybe it changed the course of my life. I am now a 70 year old widow, and have been a serious biker for 50 years.

The now defunct hospital in Dorchester MA that traumatized me as a child was The HARLEY HOSPITAL. Ha Ha.

Just a little satire on my part. After all, what isn’t racist today?

Ah.

Yes I have noticed that.

But the way things are I had no idea if they actually had declared tonsillectomies racist.

It would not surprise me.
