What should be done about those day jobbers who lack the talent of a David Van Cortland Crosby?

While I respected his talent, it's also inportant to remember he's one of the few 60's musicians to get kicked out of a band for doing
too much drugs.

Not true. If you have the $$$, the Canadian healthcare system is just peachy. It’s the proles who have the problems.

Agreed. I looked up the songs he wrote trying to figure out why everyone thought he was so great.

He didnât have a title for it but he handed it to his producer and said, âhereâs a song for what itâs worth.â The rest is R&R history. True? LOL! Quite an anecdote.

Without a doubt the crown prince of the whole Woodstock era
He loved it and wrote lyrics describing that
Long Time Gone was quite the anthem describing the whole counter culture I grew up with and we all knew he was speaking to us
A difficult fellow to begin with like so many creative folks are but even worse
His life always seemed to me to have spiraled after his longtime paramour Christine Hinton was killed in 1969 shortly after Woodstock
Talented but very flawed RIP
I related to him once no question of that but I grew beyond that yet he struggled with the passing of his era
An era he figured in as I said arguably the crown prince of buckskin fringe and long hair with his unusual voice
His solo album if only I could remember my name is worthy

Agree that Long Time Gone defined the era as well or better as any other number. Crosby seemed stuck there like so many others, and as time marched on he increasingly had trouble dealing with reality. Tortured soul.
I canât recall hearing his solo album. Will check it out.

My immediate thought. I just watched a biography on Stills and he literally wrote all the good stuff. The other guys just came along for the ride.
