My mother drank FRESCA!!! YIKERS! AWFUL STUFF!
Darn, I guess I should try one before it disappears.
Well, maybe I shouldn’t — I could find I like it. Then what?
All kidding aside, I remember when it was the new kid on the block and I’ve NEVER had a single one. I drink one or two sodas every year.
Interesting question you raise — I used to live off diet Coke, or diet Dr. Pepper — and I was a stocky tub o’ guts for all of that time.
When I totally gave up diet Soda, and switched to my true love, unsweetened Iced Tea (or just water) — I lost the fat.
Hats made my chicken bald.
We took a vacation to Mexico several years ago and my wife packed one suitcase with Tab. Enough to last her the week. There was no issue wih the airline or customs, I was amazed. The benefit, aside from a happy wife, it gave us a suitcase for souvenirs. She has since swore off all Coke products because of their politics.
I love Tab. Haven’t seen it in stores in a very long time.
“Pepsi had a diet drink called Patio before Diet Pepsi.”
We’ve been re-watching “Mad Men”, and one of their ad campaigns was for Patio. I didn’t know it was a real thing.
Remember Bill Murray in Scrooged: Stoli with a drop of Tab!
See post 68
So many of you remember Tab and Fresca. How many remember Ayds the Diet candy ?
I wonder what happened to it ?
I guess a virulent sexually transmitted disease pronounced the same put a damper on sales.
The only good thing about the 70's I remember was Olivia Newton John's voice, and you were lucky to have a Scooby Doo lunchbox, mine was Flipper the dolphin.
Advertised in the back of every mass marketed magazine in the country
Other good things:
Kolchak the Night Stalker
KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park (stupid, fun film, changed this ten year old’s life)
cheap concert tickets
good music
Most of the Florida coast was still wild (at least where I lived)
tv before cable happened, and really cool local stations that still had their own hosts (and horror hosts!)
Tastes
Awfully
Bad
I hated Tab and never knew anyone who would drink it.
