The American Rifleman used to have a monthly "Armed Citizen" column with stories about armed citizens thwarting crimes. On vignette was about some idiot trying to break into a hunting lodge that had been rented by about 20 sheriff's deputies. It did not go well.

American Rifleman still has that Armed Citizen page buried in their magazines. Buried. Stupid. Those people are heroes. Put em on the front cover. Armed Citizen of the Quarter. Of the year. All expenses paid trips to DC, NRA Convention, etc.
