He is a frequent “expert commentator” on the Russia Today propaganda network. This is a job that pays money so he certainly is getting paid something.
I myself think that he went nuts before taking Russian money. He got so bitter that he wasn’t promoted to general that he started to hate America and love everyone who declared America their enemy.
10 days after the invasion he declared that Russia has destroyed the Ukrainian military, the war is over and now it just takes a few days to formalize their victory.
