A grand jury on Wednesday delivered an indictment against Clear Creek County Sheriff's deputies Andrew Buen and Kyle Gould, Fifth Judicial District Attorney Heidi McCollum’s office said in a news release.
Buen has been charged with second degree murder, official misconduct and reckless endangerment, while Gould is charged with criminally negligent homicide and reckless endangerment in the fatal shooting of Christian Glass, 22, of Boulder, it said.
Glass had appeared to be holding a knife when he was shot five times after refusing to get out of his Honda Pilot for nearly 70 minutes, according to body camera footage and an autopsy report provided by his family's attorney.
The Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office said that following Wednesday's indictment, it had terminated the employment of both Buen and Gould.

Tragic and very odd. Not trying to justify the officers, but why would you call 911 and then become uncoperative with your potential rescuers?
Exactly, that’s what I’d like to know.
70 minutes? I would say they showed enormous restraint.
You want to commit suicide-by-cop.
suicide by cop
Didn't know it could get me killed - legally.
Drugs or psychosis or both.
Because we’re not seeing everything. That’s why.
“The 22-year-old had told a 911 dispatcher he had two knives, a hammer and a rubber mallet when he was asked whether he had any weapons, according to call records.”
The kid answered wrong. Those are TOOLS...not WEAPONS.
Is the trial in Boulder?
If yes, the two cops are doomed.
Consequence - the general public will not be protected from highly disruptive, and potentially dangerous, people.
They arrived and found a single vehicle, which appeared to have been involved in an accident, it said. Glass "immediately became argumentative and uncooperative with the deputies and had armed himself with a knife," the statement said.
"Additional law enforcement officers arrived and for over an hour tried to bring the situation to a peaceful resolution," it said.
If it all was innocent , as far as the victim goes, why this aberrant behavior by him? My question remains, with this kind of mistrust in police officers by so many, as well as, many of the politicians who employ them; why do people continue to engage in this profession?
Makes no sense. The deceased is a white male./s
I hope the officers appeal.
Perhaps he was suicidal and wanted someone to talk to.
The sheriff is gutless.
He should have told his critics to stuff it and that any time you wave a knife at one of his deputies you are at risk of getting shot.
Most cops have zero tolerance for people who try to cut them and the reason is that knife wounds are statistically more fatal than bullet wounds.
The deputies might have handled the situation in a way that would not have resulted in a death but the penalty they will be paying because they work for a spinless sheriff is not the proper punishment.
And no one has suggested a fool proof way to get the guy out of the vehicle.
Yeah, it does seem like he was not right in the head and maybe suicidal. Unfortunately, he is taking two other people down with him.
Both of you are probably correct!
