2050 our grandkids kids will have Type 2 Diabetes before they hit puberty.
I’m afraid so.
Kids when I was growing had candy of course but we also went outside and played. There were the odd kid that was fat and didn’t join in the games but that was his choice.
Junk food was also expensive so we didn’t get alot of it unless we bought it ourselves with the money we earned mowing yards, odd jobs etc.
Nowadays it seems the skinny, active kid is the odd man out and the fatties the general rule.
When I go out to the local mall I always get into my “people watching mode”, an holdover of my “girl watching” days I suppose.
I see more morbidly obese kids with no necks and two, three chins and I wonder how they let themselves get this way.
Then their parents show up and they waddle through the stores, hands full of junk food.
These kids never had a chance.
