Didn’t Pearl Jam try to make their own ticket sales agency wayyy back in the day because they thought ticketmaster had too much of a monopoly?

I must be having memory glitches because I can’t find anything on google about it. Wonder what happened to it...

Yes, and thought I have absolutely no love for Pearl Jam they were the only ones with ballz to fight. I believe there was much retribution afterward.

Yes Pearl Jam tried. They couldn’t make it work well. They booked independent venues and sold the tickets directly if I recall. But they are a rock band not a concert promoter so you’d have to expect they’d have a hard time handling all that extra work load but at least they tried. They ultimately reached a deal with Ticketmaster to reduce prices on their shows, but Ticketmaster learned that they better get control over as many venues as possible before any other acts tried to do the same - ultimately getting control of LiveNation.
