I do not subscribe to HBO, so I missed there were three and a four coming up. This show was on fire during season 1 when people like me who never watched 1 minute were aware of it. It seemed to have fallen off the cliff during season 2. The last thing I remember was the Ed Harris character was himself an android or something like that.

They lost me at the end of Season 2.
If Ed Harris's character was an android, that means that the showrunners watched too much of the reprise of Battlestar Galactica.

Funny I was just re-watching it these last few evenings.
Seen it several times already.
IMO, season 4 killed it. Went way off the rails. Or, they didn’t do such a great job of explaining how they got there or why. Left me wondering if season 5 would have to backtrack.
The creators of the show got a $100 million Netflix deal, so they are not too concerned. Lack of enthusiasm by the producers may have been a factor. That, plus it was very expensive to make.

S1 was great
S2 was still pretty good
After that, it was embarrassing.

when you’ve lived a while, you realize it’s very hard to maintain a great show past the first season. Or the first movie.
The very rare show or movie has a good sequel.
Even if the sequel is good, by the third in the series they are out of ideas and the magic is gone.

I still have a couple episodes “in the hopper.” I guess I should savor them. But, this year was kind of a mess.

For me, WW came off as a Battlestar Galactica 2004 rip-off.

Woke garbage. I quit watching it after two episodes. I could see the direction it was trying to go and I said “Not me. I’m not going to follow this crap.”

I enjoyed the 1st season, but season 2 and beyond went woke and I went away.

The original movie with Yule Brenner was good. Everything after that, meh.

I’ll stick with the original movie too.
Futureworld had a good score and Stuart Margolin.

I’m with you. Wasn’t even a gradual drop. It was as a train wreck from the get go.

LOL. I thought it went off the rails by the end of Season 1.

I went to theater to see original movie, & it scared me seriously. I thought of that movie while watching Terminator.

Battlestar Galactica 2004 was totally amazing.
Imho Westworld was nowhere in its class.
I know what they were trying to do with Westworld but it had a bad habit of putting me to sleep.
Battlestar Galactica had me on the edge of my chair from the first stunning episode to the last.

Yes, Yul Brenner was able to offset having Mr. Streisand as one of the main characters. The first one was original and imaginative. The sequels used the same concepts and some of the same sets, but they were more of the same.
Some stories are one and done. Westworld was one of those.

Between the Westworld series, the Jurassic Park franchise, etc., whoever is handling the Michael Chrichton properties is doing a tremendous disservice to a brilliant man’s legacies.

I watched it in theater and it seriously scared me.
