I would generally agree with you that the problem with dogs are the owners just like the heart of the problem with delinquents are the parents.
But you do not have to train a pit bull to be a killer. You have to train it not to be a killer. You have to train a Labrador to be a killer you do not have to train it not to be a killer.
I've really tried to act aggressively against HIS wife/girlfriend/buddy . . . and he thinks we're playing . . . just a loving docile dog.
We don't have nor live in, any strange place, so Bubba may never be tested.

I have a chocolate Lab that would absolutely take you apart if you came into his yard without me letting you in. I didn’t train him to do that. It is his yard and he has decided to protect it.
The only time I’ve been bitten was by a Labrador, when I was 11 and riding my bicycle up the street. It came out of its yard and got me on the thigh, not severely but there were toothmarks and some blood. I don’t think the owner had trained it to attack; perhaps it was just in a bad mood that day. My dad spoke with the owner and I never saw the dog loose again.
