This charge seems to be an over-reach. Unless of course, the chili had beans it it. Flying beans are no joke.
The chili had just been taken out of the microwave when it was thrown on the victim. Had the chili hit exposed skin serious injury was a real possibility.
If someone were to throw a bowl of steaming hot chili at you, you wouldn’t mind? Forget the chili, how about just a ceramic bowl. You’d be O.K. with that as well?
Chili With Beans should be at least a Felony. Chili Without Beans, should only be a misdemeanor.
