Queen Elizabeth II (born Princess Elizabeth of York), 96, the mother of the United Kingdom’s King Charles III, died September 8, 2022 at Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, a residence of the British royal family

Her televised State Funeral September 19 at Westminster Abbey in London, watched by an estimated 4 billion people, was attended by heads of state and dignitaries from around the world, including US President Joe Biden. Hard to imagine a larger audience for the dissemination of biblical truth than what this woman placed in her funeral arrangements. The selections at the link mostly deal with the afterlife but the gospel is embedded within them. Starting with this one

John 11:25-26

Jesus said unto her, “I am the resurrection, and the life he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.”

Yes, that one is so significant, and I hope non-believers watching took heed!

I was so glad to see that both the Westminster and Windsor services were so Christ-centered!!!!

Interesting tangent:

Queen Elizabeth II never visited Israel, no doubt due to the UK Foreign Office, not due to her slighting Israel.

The paternal grandmother (born in Windsor Castle and died in Buckingham Palace) of King Charles III is permanently interred in Jerusalem’s Church of Mary Magdalene on the Mount of Olives. This area is claimed as part of a proposed capital for a ‘Palestinian’ state.

Will King Charles III dare to visit a Christian shrine in Palestine? Will the UK Foreign Office allow him? Will the Palestinian Authority allow him?

Prince Phillip visited it in the 1990s I believe. He was only the consort though, might be a bit more difficult for an actual monarchy to do a private visit with no political ramifcations.
