His music aside, everything else about Michael Jackson makes me wretch.
When Michael Jackson was still black and male.
Yes, of course...
I blame his dad for how he turned out.
The lead vocal on this is amazing, pure magic.
I'll Be There--Damita Jo (1961)
Thx!
Enjoyed it much.
Born at the same hospital as Michael Jackson. My only claim to fame.
I see the video but I don’t see Joe Jackson, Alan Jackson or Jackson Browne.
My middle school art teacher Miss D., on whom I had something of a crush, used to play albums during class, including the Jackson Five from this era. That’s what this reminds me of.
Perfect example of how different the music was back then.
A freak is still a freak.
Prefer Mariah Carey’s Unplugged version.
So glad to see that, instead of the covers of the last couple decades.
Love Mariah, but no thanks on the “I’ll be There”.
Nope.
I’m not a big follower of celebs, but what I’ve heard about MJ, I honestly wonder if he was a perpetual child in a man’s body. I mean, in a mental illness sense. Like he really thought he was a kid forever.
Michael Jackson, "Stranger in Moscow":
I dated a girl who had a cousin that was in Michael Jacksons high school class. She told her that he wanted to see girls, but no girl in the school would date him. White girls had no interest in him as a boyfriend. She thought this had seriously affected him. Very sensitive kid.
This guy became major rock star when he was 6 years old and that has got to screw up your childhood, major.
Also have read his father wasn’t a nice guy at all. Pretty abusive.
I’d always felt sorry for him.
