“Thwaites is really holding on today by its fingernails,” said Robert Larter, a marine geophysicist who co-authored the study”

Yeah, the “study”.....payed for by grant money no doubt.

Gotta show something or that grant money dries up.

Don't worry if You are in the Northern Hemisphere.

Antartica is in the Southern Hemisphere and any Tsunamis or Rogue Waves will stop at the Equator.

Can't promise anyone down under or below the Equator that they're going to be safe so put on Yer Mae West.

The glacier itself in approximately 90K square miles in size. According to an article from NBC, it is melting at a rate of 1.3 miles a year.

https://www.nbcnews.com/science/environment/doomsday-glacier-melt-faster-previously-thought-rcna46380

I’m not very good at math, but using a calculator melting at that rate, it won’t make any difference to any of my family and any ancestors for a from what I can figure close to 70K years. Even if they can, why wake me up?

“Underwater base” indicates that this ice on water, floating as it were. If/when it breaks off it will not raise ocean levels at all. Ice does not displace water on net.
