I worked with a young Indian woman, once, fresh off the boat from the homeland. She complained one day about ants in her apartment, at work, and received lots of helpful advice about how to get rid of the ants. She was horrified. She actually thought she would be told how to kindly lure the ants away without killing any of them.
That's easy. Put a cookie on the ground outside and the ants will leave the house of their own accord.
