DOJ, however, already knew what Patel and Solomon would only discover a month later: The archives didn’t have the declassified documents. So if Patel said he would post them, law enforcement may have wondered, where would he get them from?
The answer must have seemed clear: Mar-a-Lago. On June 22, the Justice Department subpoenaed surveillance video footage of the storage locker. According to a New York Times story, sourced to “people familiar with the tapes,” “video showed boxes being moved out of the storage room sometime around the contact from the Justice Department.” Video “also showed boxes being slipped into different containers.” With this, the FBI was ready to move on Trump’s home.
Still, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland deliberated for weeks about whether to raid a a former president’s home. It had never been done before. Was it his destiny to be the man who ushered the United States into such dangerous territory? But the pressure to get Trump was building. It likely came from below (Monaco) and above: President Biden told aides he wanted his top law enforcement officer to target Trump. Garland finally resolved to pull the trigger. On Aug. 5, the FBI got the warrant for the raid, which took place three days later.

Two fold:
To collect evidence against themselves in the event Trump wins in 2024
To dirty up Trump so he doesn’t have a chance in 2024.
This is the larger frame, but the small frame is that the underlying assumption is that Trump unlike any other president isn’t entitled to his personal records and records vital to his presidency. As Trump pointed out Obama took 30 Million pages of documents and hasn’t even bothered to make copies as of yet.
But, this whole deal is using the NARA as a bludgeon to suppress the Russiagate documents that Rick Grennell unearthed. Nunes already forked over these documents for review and the administration sent them to the darkness never to be seen again. So when Patel started talking about releasing them.. they went nuts trying to decide where the copies that they didn’t have hidden could be located and came up with Mar-a-Lago. Then they saw records being moved and reboxed and decided this was an attempt to hide these records so they jumped. They say the point of hiding them is obstructing their work in recovering the NARA documents.
All hinges on the criminalization of the President having any of this stuff from the Presidency which has already been settled law in the case of Bill Clinton’s retention of tapes sought by Judicial Watch.

This is an intentional misdirection and gas-lighting that isn’t supported by law.. but I have seen numerous Republicans getting sucked into the discussion as if this wasn’t the fact.

Excellent article. Concise and well-written. It cuts through all the crap, even in conservative publications, of people who don't fully understand what its all about. And why should they understand? Deep state lawfare, arcane laws and bureaucratic processes, combined with MSM propaganda, make the situation as clear as mud.
In TabletMag.com? They’re so anti-Trump & anti-Torah/Orthodox Judaism, I’m astounded they’ve actually printed this. Apparently, the actions of Fuhrer Biden are scaring even them.
