Besides being rushed and done with great clumsiness, that Afghanistan Evacuation was a very strange tale.
I kept hearing about American citizens, both individuals and whole family groups that made it to the airport gates after days of rough traveling, only to be refused entry into that airport.
I heard about Afghans who had helped us with translation, who were also barred from entering the airport or boarding that plane.
Who was giving those orders and WHY?
