Once upon a time, the FBI was the most vaunted example of law enforcement on the planet.

Here’s what happened to it:

The FBI has been shady since the Hoover days. People who say this is a recent thing have very, very short memories.

And the idea that it’s just a handful at the top? The agent who was the point for trying to frame Richard Jewell for the Atlanta bombing, Don Johnson, was suspended (without pay) for 5 days for his malfeasance.

When he returned to his office after the suspension, agents lined the halls and gave him a standing ovation.

This isn’t just “at the top”.

When?

During prohibition, the problem should have been solved by allowing brewers and distillers to continuing working and selling their wares.

Without the FBI and the IRS, the gang problem would never have grown to be so big. The same goes for the stupid laws against MJ. With your own kids, you want to set your line for them, closer than you are ready to go to war against them. My parents told me no MJ, so I hid it from them really well. We all lived through it.

With alcohol prohibition, they should have just let boys be boys, and work hard for to repeal the stupid law.
