This was a dirty deed that needed to be done and Trump did it. Most of us have always looked up to the Cheneys just to see them carry out their beliefs to where it was too much for the rest of us-same with Bolton. Did the rats know this all along? Think the Darth Vader comparison. Iraq was a mistake but most of us supported it. Hindsight will always be 20-20. Can we admit we just might have been wrong? We know the rats can’t.

I still like Lynn but we haven’t heard much from her.

“Iraq was a mistake but most of us supported it.”

Because of 9-11 it was easy to justify and people wanted revenge.

I guess never let a crisis go to waste ain’t just for libs.

Iraq was a clear blunder. I didn’t see it at the time and I’ll have to admit I was a reluctant and very mild supporter.

To think that democracy in any form could be imposed or successfully offered to the Iraqis was truly naive and as far as I’m concerned, any Iraqi high school student could have seen and stated that exact point. The whole premise of Islam is that a religious figure is the supreme power or leader. To impose a political system where a man or a man-made structure of laws might be imposed is/was to ask the Iraqis to renounce their religion. And any student of history knows that this is the hardest thing there is to do. Bowing to Mecca 5x a day, the request the renunciation of the universality of Islamism in Iraqi (or any Arab) culture is the longest of long shot bets. Completely and totally ignoring any possible influence from neighboring Arab/Islamist states. The Iraqis had no experience with democracy, they had no innate craving for it; they’re not into individual rights, indeed, they rigorously oppose any imagined rights of the individual. So, you’re gonna ask the Iraqis to renounce their religion in favor of an abstract, unknown concept that none of them are clamoring for and stand ready to attack and kill them should they not go along. Yeah, that’ll fly.

Speak for yourself. I never looked up to the Bush or Cheney clans.
