Coyotes are fine to have around, as long as you do not mind them eating pet cats and dogs.

All are this year, and I wasn’t trying hard to find the reports.
We have them. I welcome them. They can feast on the Large Deer, and rabbit population.
Now that I think about it they can have the neighborhood children, and barking dogs.
In February 2019, 3 coyotes came on to our wooded property, and sniffed their way right to the spot where one of our cats liked to hang out. Thankfully he was not outside at the time. Needless to say, it was the last day my indoor/outdoor cats were allowed outside...until we built them a most wonderful cat enclosure.
We have a cat door that we built into a window in our sunroom, and it connects to a tunnel that opens into the enclosure. It has a vented roof, and I even fashioned a weather cover out of a shower curtain. The cats can go outside anytime they want, rain or shine, summer or winter, snow or heat wave.
Needless to say, those coyotes won’t get my cats.
