ANDOVER, Mass. — A portion of Interstate 495 in the Lawrence and Andover area was closed Tuesday evening, and video from the scene showed police with guns drawn.
A witness who was stuck in the stopped traffic shared video from the scene.

"There's about 12 different police vehicles, state police that are all across the highway," Gina Sabella told WCVB. "Everyone is behind their vehicle with guns drawn and some have helmets on. All of them have chest protectors on."

State police said they had patrols and tactical units at the scene of an armed suspect barricaded inside a vehicle on Interstate 495, near Interstate 93 and the Lawrence/Andover line.

State police said Interstate 495 north of Interstate 93 and Interstate 495 south of Route 28 was closed in both directions due to police activity.
Police said the roadway would be closed "for an extended duration."
"This is a dynamic situation," a spokesperson for the state police said. "As far as we know at this time, the suspect is the only occupant of the vehicle."

How is this possible!? Massachusetts is very strict gun control laws to ensure criminals and people who shouldn’t have guns can’t get them. Wait, it’s almost like criminals don’t care about the laws… Because they’re criminals.

The first thing I thought of was MA’s gun laws.
They’re beyond ridiculous. You can’t even carry only ammo in your car without a license. We Granite Staters are aware of their ridiculous restrictions and try to be careful to not forget and leave ammo in the car when we go there or have to even travel through the state.

495 is a major route to New Hampshire and Maine. We drove on it to get to our cottage in Maine. Would be pissed if I had to go through the back roads.
