Harris Teeter and Kroger are facing backlash for a decision to remove patriotic products after people complained.
A customer took to Twitter Monday to complain about Harris Teeter selling some pro-America items — that read "Give me liberty or give me death" and "America, love it or leave it" — saying they were insensitive as mass shooting incidents happen around the country.
"Why are you allowing this type of item to be sold at your grocery store in Huntersville NC? Clearly in light of the recent mass shootings, you can understand how this IS NOT a good idea," the Twitter user wrote.

This social media driven crap makes me scream. A handful of idiots tweet their opinion, and major corporations think there is a groundswell of anger out there.

The twitter “mob” could be a small handful of people. Rush always pointed out the SPLC at the time was “two guys in the basement with a fax machine.”
Companies cave WAY too quickly to a couple of vocal kooks.
To be fair, Kroger only said they were forwarding her complaint on. They didn’t say that they were removing anything. Harris Teeter is another matter.
This behavior is known as Wagging the Dog- the lazier we get, the easier it is to do.
Margins are tight and they fear things going viral. It’s easier for them to pull a product that won’t as much to the bottom line than continue selling these items. These items are niche and they don’t want to upset women who do most of the shopping

There is always going to be some professional victim bellyaching whenever anything good is said about our great country. Twitter may seem to make their voices louder, but it does not increase their numbers. The nattering nabobs of negativism are still in the minority. Believe it!

Nah. The Harry Tater and Kro’Jah won’t be going broke. Huntersville is in Mecklenburg County and Meck Cty went 70% for Joe Biking.

This is the world you created. lol. Seriously though as millennials become consumers their addiction to social media and “influencers” will see more of this stuff happening. Most people aren’t on social media. Tik tok is the candy and YouTube is their meat and potatoes. They don’t care about Facebook. Instagram still has some mindshare but it’s not where the buzz is. I’m not sure how they feel about Twitter.
Are we better off not being spoon fed by the likes of The View which would influence bored housewives who would then undermine and influence their husbands based on what Whoopi and the others said? Without balance in social media it’s going to be an echo chamber of leftist fanatics and fascists and that’ll be the driver of culture. We do not have nearly the numbers of share cultural experiences we used to with the diaspora in media with streaming services.
